Ruffled sleeves not feathers
Today is a good day guys and for no other reason than it’s a good day to have a good day! I’ve been feeling blah lately, we all get that way right? We all get stressed out, feel overwhelmed, would like nothing more than to crawl back in bed and say “nope, not today world.” Please tell me everyone has these days and it’s not just me? Well I was rereading an old book, as I’m wont to do when I don’t feel like I’m necessarily in the right frame of mind to start a new one so I reach for an old friend, and I found a passage that jumped out at me. Disclaimer: this book is a YA novel and I don’t care, I love this author, always have, and I will probably reread these YA novels until I die.
“‘Face it,’ Gary told her kindly. ‘You’ll never catch up. You just do as much as you can and take the punishments without saying anything. Sometimes I wonder if that isn’t what they’re trying to teach us…'”
Tamora Pierce, Alanna: The First Adventure
After reading that and choosing to stop feeling blah I decided to have a good day. So I’m challenging you, whoever is reading this, to have a good day. Simple as that. Choose to have a good day.
